Rock Solid provide financial support
To preserve vital local community hall in Fife, Scotland.
Rock Solid recently engaged with local community representatives from Giffordtown and District Community Council in Fife to see if there was any way that Rock Solid could financially assist with essential roof repairs that were urgently needed to help maintain Giffordtown Village Hall as a vital community hub for residents in the Giffordtown, Charlottetown, Edentown and Kinloch areas of Fife.
The Village Hall provides a base for many important community events in the surrounding area, and it has found funding for essential repairs difficult to come by of late due to the impact of Covid 19 which curtailed almost all regular events in the hall. Following a visit by Rock Solid’s General Manager Mr Mark Wederell and Operations Manager for Scotland Mr Stephan Roos during January, a donation towards urgent repairs of £1,500 was agreed and arranged by Rock Solid as part of the company’s policy of active engagement and interaction with vital community projects in the areas surrounding Rock Solid’s business operations.
On behalf of Rock Solid Mr Mark Wederell commented ‘These types of local facilities are of vital importance to both young and old especially in more rural communities. Buildings such as this Village Hall provide essential meeting spaces, concert venues, local cinema nights, youth club activities and the like. I am extremely pleased that we are able to assist on this specific project and thereby help to guarantee that this particular asset remains available to the residents of the area for the future.’
In response, Mr Neil Brooks (Chair & Secretary of Giffordtown & District Community Council) stated ‘On behalf of Giffordtown & District Community Council, I would like to thank Rock Solid for their very generous donation in aid of the essential roof repairs required to maintain our Village Hall, and Mr Wederell’s personal involvement has also been very much recognised and appreciated. From all of us here in the community, we appreciate your help and thank you for your support’.
